Caring For Your Jewelry
Your new jewelry is handmade with heaps of love and meant to stand the test of time. Proper care for each piece will ensure the lifespan of your jewels.
-Avoid wearing jewelry while doing things that may be rough on your pieces (I.E. dishwashing, cleaning, showering, gardening, working out, etc.)
-Always avoid chemicals while wearing jewelry. Things such as bleach, chlorine, soaps/lotions, and sulfur can cause lasting negative affects to the metals and stones used in your jewelry.
-Opals are especially fragile, requiring a little extra attention. These stones are extremely soft, making them easier to crack/scratch, and they can absorb any chemicals that have come in contact with them causing life long damage. Follow this LINK to read more about opal care!
TARNISHING INFO
I work strictly with .925 Sterling silver and .999 Fine silver. These metals will inevitably tarnish over time due to exposure to air and moisture. To keep your ANDISA STUDIO jewelry shining, store pieces in a dry, airtight space and gently polish with a soft cloth when needed. You can use warm water and a small amount of dawn dish soap then buff with a scratch free cloth to clean occasionally. The compound loaded polishing pad that accompanies each order works wonderfully to remove small surface scratches and tarnishing.
Everyones PH balance is different and may play a role in how ANDISA STUDIO jewelry will be affected. If you have known allergies to silver, this jewelry may not be suitable for you. Accelerated tarnishing may be due to your personal PH and/or lotions and perfumes used. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me at andisastudio@gmail.com. I will get back to you as promptly as I can.
Every order will be accompanied by an instructional 'care card' with information on how to properly love on your new jewelry for lifetimes to come. Orders will also have a polishing pad that can be used to keep things looking fresh.
With proper care, your pieces will stay beautiful for years to come!
